How your data stays private — and why there's so little for us to protect
No Account, No Login
Reckon Well has no sign-up, no sign-in, and no user accounts. You can use every tool the moment the page loads. There are no passwords for us to store and no identity for us to track.
Where Your Data Lives
Everything you enter stays in your own browser, using a built-in feature called local storage. Your data never leaves your device and is never sent to our servers — because we don't run a database that holds your information.
This includes:
Retirement Planner: Monthly expenses, savings balances, family members, and plan settings.
Supporting Tools: Emergency fund inputs, savings benchmarks, and withdrawal timeline data.
Reckon Health: Your health profile, food logs, drink logs, sleep logs, and saved food library.
AI Features
Some optional features — the planning assistant and voice intake in the wealth planner, and food photo analysis in Reckon Health — send the relevant input to Anthropic (the maker of Claude) to generate a response in real time. Voice input is converted to text by your browser before being sent. Spoken assistant replies are sent to ElevenLabs for voice synthesis, and food searches query the public USDA FoodData Central database.
This data is processed in the moment and is not stored by us afterward. We never ask for, send, or store sensitive identifiers like Social Security numbers or account numbers. See our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what each feature transmits.
How We Protect the Connection
Encryption in transit: Every page and request is served over HTTPS/TLS. We enforce HTTPS-only access (HSTS) so your browser never connects insecurely.
Hardened browser policies: We set strict security headers — including a Content Security Policy, clickjacking protection, and MIME-type protections — to reduce the risk of malicious code running on the site.
Analytics: Anonymized usage analytics (via Google Tag Manager) load only after you accept analytics cookies, and never include the data you enter into the tools.
Your Control
Use it freely — No account is ever required.
See everything — Your data is visible to you directly in the tools at all times, because that's the only place it exists.
Delete it instantly — Clear your health data from the Profile panel in Reckon Health, or clear your browser's local storage to wipe planner data. Since nothing is stored on our servers, there is nothing to request deletion of from us.
